Well, How does electricity flows inside a cable or wire? This is a general question which raises all the time.

Basically, cable and wires are made up of three common parts; Conductor, Insulator, and Sheath.

The conductor is made of Aluminum, or Copper, or Silver. Electricity flows from one place to another inside the conductor.

Insulator or Insulation is a protection of conductor. Have you seen colorful wires, red, green, blue? This colorful protection is act as Insulation. Insulation in overhead power lines and other types of electrical wires & cables are slightly different than what we see. Normally in high tension cables we use XLPE (or Cross-linked Polyethylene) and PVC (or Polyvinyl Chloride) insulation.
